The T\u00e2mega gigabattery in Portugal is a hydroelectric storage complex carried out by Iberdrola, capable of storing 40 million kWh, i.e. the energy consumed by 11 million people in 24 hours. It is a major engineering work that began in 2014 and has now established itself as the largest renewable energy project in the Portuguese country. &#8220;<em>We are very pleased to have contributed with 9 cranes to a project of such magnitude, committed to clean energies<\/em>&#8221; says Antonio Naranjo, from JASO&#8217;s marketing department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The nine cranes were installed in the three hydroelectric power plants that make up this project: Gouv\u00e3es, Alto T\u00e2mega and Daiv\u00f5es.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, we contributed three cranes to the Gouv\u00e3es pumping station:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One 20-ton double-girder gantry crane<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two 150\/20-ton double-girder cranes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, we installed three cranes at the Daiv\u00f5es utilization:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One 15-ton double-girder semi-gantry crane<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One 20-ton single-girder crane<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One 200-ton double girder crane<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And finally, in 2022, we moved to the Alto T\u00e2mega power plant to put the last three cranes of the project into operation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A 15-tonne double-girder semi-gantry crane<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A 20-ton single-girder crane<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One 210-ton double-girder crane<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The cranes will be used for assembly and maintenance tasks to ensure the full performance of the hydroelectric complex throughout its lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"En marcha la gigabater\u00eda hidroel\u00e9ctrica del T\u00e2mega\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xECK8YS8yb4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It is an honor for JASO to be part of the transition to a more sustainable system thanks to a project like this, which allows the storage of large amounts of energy to be used when it is most needed.
