42 cranes for the new Siemens Gamesa plant in Le Havre (France)
Siemens Gamesa awards JASO all the industrial cranes for its new marine wind turbine factory in Le Havre, the largest industrial project in the renewable sector in France.
The 42 cranes are currently in the design phase and will be supplied to the marine wind turbine factory to be built by Siemens Gamesa in the port of Le Havre. It will cover an area of 20 hectares and will be the largest industrial project in the wind sector and the first in the world to manufacture offshore blades and nacelles under one roof.
This new plant will manufacture the 71 offshore wind turbines at the Fécamp wind farm in Normandy, a project developed by the consortium formed by EDF Renewables, Enbridge and wpd, as well as the offshore wind turbines at the Saint Brieuc wind farm, located in Brittany and promoted by Iberdrola.
The equipment to be supplied is:
- 1 bridge crane of 350-250-10 Tons and 37.5 m span
- 1 bridge crane of 160-30 Tons and 37.5 m span
- 1 bridge crane of 125-30 Tons and 37.5 m span
- 3 cranes of 63-63 (max. 90) Tons and 38.5 m span
- 2 cranes of 40-40 (max. 45) Tons and 28.5 m span
- 2 semi-gantry cranes of 20-20 (max. 22) Tons and 17.5 m span
- 1 maintenance single-girder crane of 5 Tons
- 20 cantilever jib crane of 2.5-2.5 Tons
- 11 gantry jib crane between 250 kg and 2 Tons
In the spring of 2021 we will move on to the production phase to begin distribution at the end of next year and thus complete the project in the first quarter of 2022 with the installation and commissioning of all the equipment.
The manufacture of the 42 cranes will be carried out in our two production centres in Spain, Itsasondo (Gipuzkoa) and Venta de baños (Palencia).
The achievement of this project once again consolidates us as one of the market leaders in the supply of lifting equipment for the renewable energy sector and in particular, wind power.
Thank you Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy S.A. for trusting our teams for the largest industrial project in the wind energy sector in France.
