New Ladle Crane for Acerinox Plant in Algeciras
A robust, safe, and reliable crane designed for intensive duty cycles under M8/A8 classification, with a 220/70-ton capacity and a 24-meter span.
Need
Acerinox Europa, a global benchmark in the manufacturing of stainless steel and high-performance alloys, needed to replace a JASO ladle crane installed in 1998 at its Algeciras plant.
The project presented a dual challenge: incorporating a high-performance solution capable of operating under extreme temperature and safety conditions, while carrying out the installation in an existing building, which added significant technical and logistical complexity.
Solution
The result is a ladle crane designed and manufactured at our Itsasondo facilities and recently commissioned in Algeciras.
A robust, safe, and reliable machine designed for intensive duty cycles under M8/A8 classification, with a 220/70-ton capacity and a 24-meter span.
Key features include:
- Tandem operation in all movements
- Underwater girders with integrated electrical equipment
- Enclosed cab with heat-insulated structure, ensuring operator safety and comfort under extreme conditions
- Performance Level D safety rating
